Description

Caricature of American actor William Conrad as Detective Frank Cannon from the CBS television series which ran from 1971–76. Conrad got his start in radio and was one of radio’s most popular actors when he won the role of Marshal Matt Dillon for the radio series which aired in 1952. Conrad shaped much of Matt Dillon’s character, but when Gunsmoke was adapted for television in 1955, the network chose James Arness for the title role instead of Conrad who was considered too fat. Conrad’s voice won him many narration jobs in television including the animated series “Rocky and Bullwinkle” from (1959–64) and “The Fugitive”, starring David Janssen, on ABC television (1963–67). He returned to television in a starring role with “Cannon”, and two other TV series, “Nero Wolfe” and, with Joe Penny, “Jake and The Fatman” (1987–92). Media: Digital. Size: 13.5 x 19 inches @ 300 ppi. Date: 2015.
